my ethos involves creating an understanding of what the player is actually playing and not just rote modeling with no real grasp of what he or she is playing. but to call it a theory course is not fully accurate either. instead its a blend of learning new “licks” (biz talk) and new “songs” (more) and studying those pieces for knowledge about keys and chord structure. either way it’s fun for student and teacher, me.
every lesson is recorded and the student leaves with an mp3 of the lesson for home study between lessons. each student has their own program for their level of playing proficiency.
